Why do African men die early?

Because of bad health policy!

It was a normal Sunday just like any other at Calvary Charismatic Baptist Church - 09th February, 2003. The head pastor Rev. Francis Sarpong entered the church well equipped - with a priest's gown ready to deliver a professional medical service - just like a specialised medical doctor. A senior pharmacist in the church could not help to congratulate the pastor. Before his sermon the pastor 'warned' the congregation that the sermon he was about to deliver was not spiritual.

THEME: "STEWARDSHIP OF OUR BODY"

READINGS

1st Reading

1Corithians 3:16

2nd Reading

2Corithians 6:16

"An average lifespan of an African man is 49 years while that of a white man is 75 years. In some African countries like Guinea Bissau the lifespan been reduced to 43 because of young men drinking too much."

    TEN HEALTH TIPS

1. PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE

Everyone in UK should have a private insurance as some goes as low as £10.00. This is because you can die waiting for an operation with National Health Service as you can wait for as long as 3 years.

2. MUST FAMILY HISTORY

Check your family history for this would help the doctor to compare your case. A good example is a recent case of TD Jakes the famous American preacher. TD Jakes went to see his doctor with a problem. He was overweight. His doctor asked him about his family history. His doctor was surprised to see that TD Jakes father died at TD Jakes age, for the same problem TD Jakes was having. The doctor told TD Jakes that he has to make a U-turn and change his health habits as he was in a great danger. Henceforth TD Jakes changed and he slimed observing all the health instructions and he completely recovered.

3. YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR OWN BLOOD PRESSURE KIT

It was noted that most African dies of heart related illness. Most people suffer with high blood pressure and they are not aware. The pastor noted that the kit costs only £59 and the kit will help you monitor your conditions all the time.

4. CHECK YOUR SUGAR LEVEL

Most people suffers from Diabetes and it takes along time before they know the problem.

5. CHECK YOUR CHOLESTEROL LEVEL

You should ask you GP to check your cholesterol level so as to keep under control with your eating habits

6. CHECK YOUR DIED

It is always good to book an appointment with your dietician.

7. YOU MUST DO REGULAR/CONSTANT BODY EXERCISE

8. YOU SHOULD COMPARE YOUR WEIGHT WITH AGE AND HEIGHT

9. TAKE IN VITAMIN SUPPLEMENTS

10. HAVE A GOOD REST.

It was noted that most Africans in UK have 3 to 4 jobs of which they work none stop.

QUOTE OF THAT DAY

"We blacks are just dieing just like that because of little knowledge."

"I was in Amsterdam - 5.00 a.m. in the morning - everyone is walking - I saw no black man"
