Kenya Coffee Directors for a Church Service in London

 

Three directors of Coffee Board of Kenya attended a church service at Jubilee Ministry International, London on Sunday 25th May, 2003. The team has been in London for the last one week together with Minister for Agriculture Hon. Kirwa. They had been attending International Coffee Union in Oxford Street, London where all coffee growing countries attended. The team which was headed by Minister Kirwa comprised of the Managing Director Mr.Solomon Waweru, Director of Agriculture Dr. Joseph Wanjama and General Manager Mr. Daniel Wachira Mwago. With the exceptional of the Minister Kirwa who was busy somewhere else the three directors were highly welcomed by Kenyan at Jubilee Ministry International a Kenyan church in London. The pastor of the church Pastor Daniel Kariuki welcomed the guests and later delivered the word of the day. He reminded the congregation that there is a city where peace flows like river and that is where everyone who believes in God is hoping to go.

Escorting their baby to the church

It was a colourful occasion on Sunday 27th April 2003 when David and his wife Faith escorted of Christian Life Centre, Oxford together with family and friends escorted their son Mark for a dedication and anointing service.  The ceremony was attended by family and friends including Mark's grandmother who is the mother to Faith from Thika, Kenya. After the service the guests joined the family for a reception at their house in Oxford. The hosts had to go an extra mile to cope with the large number of guests at the residence. During the church service the officiating pastor reminded David and Faith to bring the young Mark in a Godly way. "The world is failing because there are no enough people to speak the word of God to the society" the pastor explained. He reminded the congregation that people needs Jesus in their desperate life as their 5,057 suicide cases in UK in the year 2002.

It was a day that Kenyans in London showed their true side of giving.  It was a teamwork demonstrated in giving. Friends of Rev. Samuel Muya of Talents Revival Centres, Elburgon, Nakuru, Kenya met on Saturday 12th April 2003 at Denmark Arms, London to raise funds to buy a church building in Kenya. Talents Revival Church, a uprising church in Nakuru is in need of money to buy a church building. After explaining the situation back home, Rev. Muya saw the hand of God as the guests contributed generously. Just after the fundraising, Rev. introduced Mrs. Mary Frank the London lady who gave a two-acre piece of land to a poor lady of Talents Church, Nakuru. The lady was touched after seeing a video of Talents Church whereby a poor lady who gave his son for an offering sometimes last year. After the fundraising those who remained behind were touched by the story and they agreed to help in building a house for the poor lady on the donated piece of land. Among the guests of honour at the fundraising were Mr. Irungu Muchoki (tallest Kenyan man in UK), Mr. Samuel Kamau Matahe, a  businessman from Reading Mr. Maina Kanyora, and a group of ladies from North London lead by Tabitha, Pastor Ann Irungu, Mrs. Ann Waweru from Slough and Mr. Seed among others.

Joining the club at 55

The family and friends came to witness the occasion

Mrs. Mary Wanjiru Njiru (centre) a 55 year-old lady was baptized in London on Sunday 6th April, 2003 at Balaam Leisure Centre, Plaistow, London. The lady,  all the way from Nottingham accepted Jesus Christ as her personal saviour two weeks before the baptismal. The photo shows Rev. Tony Gichuhi (left) and Pastor Joseph Karanja (right) inside the swimming pool ready to deliver the goods.
