A colourful wedding took place on Saturday 3rd August, 2002 between John Kiruthi and Emily Kinya Kiruki in London. The ceremony which was held at Baptist Memorial Church, Barking Road, London was officiated by Rev. Elijah Kimani of Huduma Christian Ministries, London assisted by Rev. John Gichiri of Victory Revival Christian Centre and his wife Rev. Margaret Kingaru. It was a wedding to borrow a leaf from. The Cake of the Year and the Meru Traditions in the heart of London made the colourful wedding have taste with difference. Former Miss Kiruki who has been a student in Germany comes from the slopes of Mt. Kenya, Meru, Kenya. A number of her relatives including the parents Mr&Mrs. Peter Kiruki a businessman in Meru town attended the wedding. John Kiruthi is a nephew of Mr. Seed.

According to the designer of this cake, this is the second cake of this type to make in his career.
