THE LATE DR. SAMUEL NJOROGE GIKONYO

We would like to announce with sadness the death of Dr. Samuel Njoroge Gikonyo which occurred in Kenya on Tueday 15th May 2012. He was the beloved husband to Rose Blanche Wambui, beloved father to Philip Njoroge of Dublin Ireland, Eva Wangui of Nairobi, Vicky Griffith of Boston USA and Chege of Nairobi. Beloved father in-law to Pauline Njeri Njoroge, Dan Griffith, and Jane Chege. Family and friends are meeting in his Kikuyu home for prayers and Saint Andrews Church Nairobi every evening from 6pm for prayers and arrangements. It is with humble acceptance of God will that we announce the passing of our beloved Hezron Njenga Karuga of Dagoretti in Nairobi Kenya. He was husband to Grace Wanjiku Njenga, father to Eunice Njambi Macharia (Washington USA) Elizabeth Ngendo Njenga (California USA) Jacob Karuga (Seattle Washington USA) Damaris Wairimu Karanja (Nairobi Kenya) David Mungai Njenga (Washington USA) John Mbitu (Washington USA) Esther Wanjiru Kiboro (Washington USA).

 

The late Hezron Njenga Karuga passed away on Wednesday 2nd, 2012 at Nairobi Hospital, Nairobi, after an illness bravely born. He comes from Dagoretti of Nairobi. Family and friends and well wishers will meet for prayers on Thursday May 10th 2012 the funeral will then be held on Friday May 11th 2012, The body of the late hezron Njenga Karuga will leave Montezuma monalisa at 09.00am towards his home in Dagoretti Gachui and then to PCEA Githima church where he have been an elder for fifty years.

The death of our daughter Beth has been a very difficult time for us as a family. As her parents, we received love, prayers and financial support which are impossible to adequately express in words. In a special way, we wish to thank the following: Our senior Pastor, Boniface Mbugua and his wife Geraldine, Pastor Gad and his wife Grace. To pastors from other congregations; Pastors Karanja and Kibathi who ministered during the evening prayer meetings. To Brian Mukiri, the chairman of the funeral committee who together with councillor Elizabeth Kangethe, James Kareithi and Chris Swai led the committee. To Mr. Seed for his wife Pastor Jane Njiiri for publicity and finally and not least Mr. Alex Kamau.

You coordinated everything so well and went out of your way to ensure we gave our daughter a decent send -off. For the Revival House Women of Destiny who sang so gracefully and enriched the worship making the evening prayers so spiritually uplifting. For the Revival House praise and worship team who made the worship service worthy and acceptable to the Lord we serve. For the Revival House sisters whose labour and effort provided snacks and refreshments every evening. You ensured those who joined us in prayers had something to eat and drink-Mungu awabariki. For all the members of Revival House ,members of the Diaspora in the UK, Sweden, America, Kenya and the other parts of the world who stood with us and made us feel special to be members of this loving family. We regret to announce the death Mr John Mwangi Karungaru, in Oxford, UK. The late John Mwangi  Karungaru of 250 Pegassus Way, Oxford; passed away in his sleep on 28/01/2012 after a heart attack. John had a history of heart conditions and the cause of death was as attributed to:

1a) Cerebral Infarct

  b) Cerebral Artery Thrombosis and Atherosclerosis

2) Diabetes Mellitus

Mr John Mwangi Karungaru was 72 years of age. He was born in Karatina, Mathira in Nyeri District. Mr Karungaru lived in France in the early 1980s and immigrated into the UK in 1987. As a young man John was a construction Engineer, and was involved in the road construction in most parts of East Africa. In the UK he worked for Taylor Woodrow general construction company in Southall, until 1995 when he retired due to a triple heart bypass. During the early 1990s he touched the lives of many Kenyans in the UK with his kind nature of giving and helping whenever he could. Mr John Mwangi Karungaru will be missed and remembered by many.

We regret to announce the death of our beloved dad Francis Kamuga Nganga of St Paul Minnesota on Tuesday, Feb 7th, 2012. Francis was husband to Grace Kamuga, father to Caroline Mathai (Wolverhampton UK) Joyce Kamuga (Nairobi), Wendy Ngocho (St Paul, MN), Vivian Kamuga (Mankato, MN) and Morgan Kamuga (St Pau MNl). He was father–in-law to Toni Mathai (Wolverhampton UK) and Anthony Ngocho (St Paul MN). Brother to Mwai, Muya, Mburu, Wanjeri, Ngendo and Wanjiku. Prior to migrating to US, Francis worked for Kenya Revenue Services.

It’s with great sadness that we announce promotion to glory of a dear son, husband, dad, brother, uncle and a friend to many, Steve Kinyanjui formerly of London Deptford . He hails from Magumu, South Kinangop, Nyandarua Kenya.

Passed away after an alleged shooting in Nairobi on Wednesday 01/02/2012 on his way home. He was son to Jacinta Wangui Kinyanjui and late Charles Kinyanjui Kiriti. Steve leaves behind his dear wife Charity Njagi, and daughter Kelly-Anne Kariuki of London UK.

Steve was brother to the KINYANJUIS, Paul and Timothy of Deptford UK, Peter and the late Harun both formerly of Deptford UK, John, Joseph, Francis and Lucy of Kenya. Late Mzee John Otieno Magero (1930 – 2012)

Death has occurred in London of Mzee John Otieno Magero (1930 – 2012) on 20 January 2012, a Kenyan with one of the longest residency in UK. Mzee Magero from Bunyala first came to England in 1962 for further studies and remained for permanent settlement. He was the youngest head teacher in Siaya District. His nephew, Fred Gumo, minister for regional development flew to London to visit him at the hospital when he heard that he was severely ill.


Friends of the late John Denis Otieno (JD) will meet on 29th January 2012 at the YE OLD SWISS Pub at 14:00 Swiss Cottage. The pub is right above the Swiss Cottage Tube Station.


The funeral service takes place on 6th February 2012 at St.Wilfreds Church, Lorrimore Road SE17 at 09:00 hrs and Burial at Camberwell New Cemetery, Brenchley Gardens, Camberwell, London, SE23 3RD thereafter.

We regret to announce the death of Mr Samuel Muturi who died on Monday 9th January 2012 after a long battle with Kidney problems. He is from Murang’a in Kenya. He was the loving husband to late Lucy Muturi, dad to Helen, William and Mark Muturi, brother to many and cousin to Benson Mutuota Mwangi from Swindon (UK), Julius Maina Ndirangu from Oxford (UK) and many more and a friend to many.


Samuel Muturi will be laid to rest on the Tuesday 17th January 2007 in Murang’a. Lucy Muturi died after a short battle with cervical cancer on 21st Nov 2011 and was laid to rest on the 29th Nov 2011 in Murang’a. Mr. Samuel Muturi (Ndugu) and Lucy Muturi who were in their forties previously lived in East London (Plaistow) and thereafter Swindon, Wiltshire before returning to Kenya (Office: Ruprani House- Nairobi) in 1998.

Njeri and John were packing to take their wedding blessing (17.12.2011) to Kenya to honour their Mum when they received the sad news, only three days before the day she was so much looked forward to dance at the wedding. It is a very sad and difficult time for Njeri, John and all the family in Kenya and others who are in other parts of the world.

Mother to Catherine Nyokabi, the late Moses Muteithia, James Ngera, Lucy Muringi (Mama Njeri, UK), David Kibera and Rosemary Wanjira. Grandmother to Virginia Njambi (Australia), Esther Nduta (Australia), Stephanie Njeri (UK), Nesta Njambi (UK) and Ashley Njenga (UK), Virginia Njambi Ngera, Vincent Wahome Ngera, Teresia Njeri Chege and Virginia Njambi Chege. The burial ceremony takes place on Thursday 15th December, 2011 in Ngorano, Karatina, Nyeri, Kenya. The cortege leave Jomo Kenyatta University Mortuary on Thursday morning at 8.00 a.m. where people will assemble for the journey.

It is with humble acceptance of God that we announce the passing to Glory of Mr George Githendia Kibe  of Bedford UK after a short illness on Sunday 27th November, 2011. Mr Kibe, a well liked elderly member of the community passed on peacefully with Pastors and members of the community by his hospital bedside. He comes from Mbichi village, Kamwangi location, Gatundu division, Thika district.  He was the son of the late Francis Kibe Gatumbi and Grace Ngendo Kibe. He was the loving husband to Jane Githendia, father to Grace Ngendo Githendia and Martin Kibe Githendia.
