DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT

The late Peter Gathiru Ng'ang'a

We regret to announce the sudden death of the late Peter Gathiru Ng’ang’a, after a short illness. Husband to Mrs Assumpta Wanjiku, both of Ting’ang’a Village, Kiambu. He is a beloved father to the late Lucy Wambui, Gorreti Wanjiru, wife of Mr James Kariuki (Mama and Baba Njeri) of Oxford, Charity Wambuku (previously residing at Katherine Road, London), Anthony Ngaga and Cecilia Kiria. Uncle to Mama and Baba Lennox of Barking, Assumpta Wanjiku (Chicks) – Katherine Road, Treza Wairimu (London), Joseph Gitau (Karandi), Lorna Wanjiru (London). Sister-in-law to Cecelia Muthoni.

 

The bereaved family and friends are meeting at; 319 Long Bridge Road, Barking, Essex, IG11, every night from 8pm – 10.30pm, until 30th December 2002. The final prayers will be held at Harvest Christian Church International, 381 Denmark Arms (junction of Barking Road and High Street North, East Ham, E6) on 31st December 2002, from 5pm – 9pm.

 

The funeral will take place the same day on Tuesday 31st December 2002, at their home in Tinganga Village, Kiambu. May the Lord Rest His Soul in Eternal Peace.

DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT

Death has occurred of  Joanne Wanja Njoroge, 28, in London on Monday 16th December, 2002 while asleep in her apartment in Plaistow, East London. The late Joanne was not discovered until Thursday 19th December 2002 when the police went into her house after being reported missing.  It is thought that she passed away of a heart attack. Joanne comes from Kinyona Village, Kigumo Division, Murang'a, Kenya. His father, Mr. Njoroge Wakaba  is a former headmaster at Kinyona Primary School. She is not well known in London as she spent a long time in Newham General Hospital before recovering a year ago. Joanne, who was an active church member of Universal Church of the Kingdom of God, Finsbury Park, London is a close family friend of the Seeds. On Saturday 14th December, 2002 they attended a youth play in their church with Baby Seed at 7.00 p.m. She was actively participating at the play. She comes from the same village with the Seeds. The death has occurred of Mr. Francis Njehia Manyagi of Kigumo Village, Maragua District.

Husband of Tabitha Wanjeri. Father of Dionisiah Mwaura, Domenic Manyagi, Margaret Guthua, John Kihanya (NSIS), Lucy Mboche, Patrick Macharia, Catherine Kamau (Kenol-Kobil), the late Waithira and late Anne Wangari.

He was grandfather and great grandfather. Father in law to Joseph Kiara Mwaura, Grace Waithira, Prof Symon Guthua, Joyce Wangari, Harry Mboche, Jane Ngoiri and Peter Kamau. Brother to the late Macharia Manyagi and Gatheri Kimotho.

Friends and relatives are meeting from 6pm every evening at the International Christian Centre (ICC) on Mombasa Road (Route 12, alight at Marshalls Show Room, 150 meters past Nyayo Stadium) and at his home in Kigumo Village.

The cortege leaves Githumu Hospital Mortuary on Friday, December 6th at 9am. The service will take place at Kigumo Catholic Church from 10.30am.

Burial will take place at his farm in Kigumo village at 2pm the same day.

Daughter to the Late Faustin Kamau  and Martha Mwihaki Kamau,  Sister to Lucy Njeri Kariuki  of Nairobi,  Teresia Wanjeri  of  Githunguri,  Sarah Wanjiru Kuira of Thika,  Salome Muthoni  of Kiambu  Anthony Njoroge and Florence Wambui. The memorial  and burial programme for the late Kenyan boy,  Abraham Thuku, in London is out. The burial will take place on Friday 18th October, 2002 at The City of London Crematorium, Manor Park, London E12 along Aldersbrooke Road at 3.00 p.m. Prior to the burial there will be a service at All Saint's Church, Romford Road, Opposite Woodgrage British Rail Station at 01.30 p.m. Viewing of the body will be on Thursday 17th October, 2002 at Co-operative Funeral Services, 62 Barking Road, London E6 3BP  opposite West Ham Football ground at 1.00 p.m. The late Thuku, 13,  fell to his death at Leytonstone, East London on Thursday 10th October, 2002. The late Abraham Thuku, is a son of Kimani Ngugi (proprietor of the Lincoln Club)  and Rose Kimani. The boy was rushed to Whips Cross hospital where he underwent a four-hour operation but unfortunately the boy could not make it. Lincolns is a popular Kenya joint in East London. The boy has been a student at Stratford School, Stratford. The the late Mrs. Mwangi, a former secretary of Chief Auditor with the Nairobi City Council is the wife of Mr. David Mwangi of Maasai Lodge, Rongai, Kenya. She is mother to Jeniffer Kabura Mwangi (London), Allan Kariuki, George Njoroge, Beatrice Wamaitha (London), Patricia Waigwe (London), Lydia Wanjiru (London) and Benson Githua Mwangi. Mother-in-law of Simon Ngugi Turuga (Thornton Heath) and Mbugua Kamau (Wa Fenina - Northampton). The husband is a former employee of Sasini Tea and Coffee Ltd. He has been attending his wife in the hospital since they arrived in London in December last year.  The late Grace Mwangi has been in hospital since December. Death has occurred of Mzee Livingstone Njora Wakiawa of Nyahururu Farmers Co-operative Limited, Leshau Location, Nyandarua District, Kenya.

He died on 23rd August 2002 at Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi after a short illness.

He was husband to Mrs. Florence Wambui Njora of Nyahururu Farmers Co-operative Limited, Leshau, Nyandarua District, Kenya, father to Mr. Mukuna Njora and father-in-law to Mrs. Jacinta Mukuna (Mama Flora) both of Dagenham, London UK, among others.

Eight children, 36 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren survive him.

He will be buried on Friday 30th August, 2002 at his farm at Nyahururu Farmers Co-operative Ltd, Leshau Location, Nyandarua, Kenya.

With profound shock and sorrow, we regret to announce the sudden death of Brenda Wangu Karanja; daughter of Elizabeth Njeri Karanja and the late Geoffrey Karanja Kamau of Karati, Naivasha.  She was the baby sister to Teresia Gathoni, Maria Wairimu Kimani, Magdalene (Maggie) Karanja, El Sobrante, Califonia, Salome Wambui Kung’u, Kamau Karanja, Lucy Waithera Karanja Karanja (El Sobrante California), Monica Kariuki(San DiegoCalifornia), Patrick Rugano, and James Njoroge.

A Kenyan lady has died in London. Miss Jane Juma, 26, died on Friday at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich, South London after a short illness. She complained of the headache, her friends called the ambulance and after a long wait at the hospital she passed away. Meningitis was the said to be the cause of her death. The  body of Joseph Kimathi, 27, who is said to be from Meru was discovered  from his house by his landlord who had gone to collect his house rent.   The wife was  informed on Tuesday 28th May 2002.  According to a reliable source, Kim, as he was well known by friends has been living alone after separating with his wife Judy who has given birth to twins. He has been working as a barber in Luton.
