DEATH and FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
We
deeply regret to announce that the family of Mr. & Mrs. Gichini Nganga Njehu
(photographer) of South London, UK have lost their loving sister,
Sister Salome Nyokabi Muchiri and her newborn child back in Kenya through
child birth complications. Salome Nyokabi was married to Pastor S. Muchiri
Matere of Gitangu, Ngecha Location, Limuru, Kiambu. They were blessed with
three children.
Salome Nyokabi was the daughter of Mr & Mrs Onesmus Nganga Njehu of Limuru,
sister to the late Joseph Njehu, Mary Mukami, Paul Gitau, Jane Njeri (South
London), Isabela Wanjiku (Nairobi), Gichini Njehu (ITP Studios, London, UK),
Henry Njogu, Peninah Wambui and Anthony Thuo (formerly Safaricom Kenya).
Salome will be laid to rest on Friday 17th November 2006 on their farm in
Gitangu. She is survived by a husband, Pastor Muchiri Matere and three
children, 14, 10 and 3.5yrs.

The late Robin Albert Muchene
1966 - 2006
More information about a Kenyan who passed away in UK. Robin Albert Muchene, 40, from Uthiru Kenya who was living in Worthing, UK fell down on his way to work and died. The late Robin who had been in the UK since year 2000 was suppose to report for work at 2.00 p.m. on that day. He left his house at about 11.00 a.m. and as he crossed the road, he fell down. Some good Samaritans called the ambulance who took Robin to the hospital where he passed away. It took time for the family to be contacted. He died of brain haemorrhage. Robin was born on 28th October 1966 at Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham. He was the first born child of Gladwell Muthoni Muchene and the late Erastus Isigi Odali. When he attained the age of six (6) years, he went to Kenya with his parents. When he returned to Kenya, he started his Primary education at City Primary School in Nairobi, then transferred to Uthiru Primary School in 1971. He then went to Aga Khan High School in Mombasa for his Secondary education where he sat for his K.C.S.E. examinations in 1981.Immediately after his Form Four examinations results, he was employed at Hotel Intercontinental, Mombasa. He worked in various Hotels in the Coast of Mombasa until he left for Britain his birth place in June year 2001.

Cortege leaves Aga khan hospital mortuary on Tuesday 31st Oct 2006 at 3.00 pm for brief prayers at her Kisumu residence – Makasembo B next to Polyview hotel. The main burial service will be on 1st Nov 2006 at PCEA kiaibabu church, Ikinu, Kiambu. The body will be laid to rest at the family’s grave yard in Kiambu.

Mr. Macharia Gakuru of Eastern African Magazine London has lost his only brother back in Kenya. The late Lawrence Kariuki Gakuru, 28, passed away on Sunday 24th September, 2006 in an accident while swimming in a dam in a coffee farm next to Paradise Restaurant along Kiambu-Nairobi road. It was on Sunday morning that late Gakuru and his team of friends decided to go for a barbecue in a coffee farm next to Paradise restaurant. They shared the duties - some to go for meat, other preparing the venue while others went for tables and water. The late Gakuru was given the duty of preparing the venue. After completing their duties, they decided with his two friends to swim a dam next to the venue as they wait for the other team to arrive. While swimming the late Gakuru dived to the deep end and since he was not a good swimmer he was unable to come out. We regret to announce the sudden death of our beloved wife, mama, grandma and friend Joyce Wanjiru Irungu. She went to be with the Lord on late Monday 18th sep 2006 at 7.35 p.m. after a short illness, She was loved wife of Rev. Wilson Irungu of Africa Inland church Nakuru. Mother to Pr. George Irungu and Miriam Irungu both of South Bend Indiana USA, mother in law to Joyce Wanjiku Kiarie grandma to twins Winnie and Ruth. Joyce served the Lord with Upendo Children’s Home a branch of Childcare International where she worked and was mom to various unfortunate kids in Nakuru. She worked tirelessly to teach Sunday school and to mother the kids for fifteen years. She resigned due to her health and stayed with her husband in their home in Nakuru town. Two days before she went home she did preach to a neighbor and shared with her about a beautiful city of God where she will soon be going, no one had idea that two more days she will be gone to that city.
May God Bless her soul. We loved you Mum but God loved you most. She will be put to rest on Wednesday 27th Sep 2006 in Nakuru North Cemetery. We want to express our heart felt thanks to Kenyans in USA who have been supporting us and also Bishop Gichure who was with us.
Mom’s poem: I’d like memory of me to be a happy one, I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done, I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of a happy times and laughing times and a bright and sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of a happy memories that I leave when my life is done.

He hailed from Kamune village in Muthioya Division of Murang’a, Kenya. He was born on 5th September 1946. Alfred died after a short illness on 12th June 2006. He was a husband to the late Ruth Nyambura Muriithi. Sister to: Irene Njambi Migwe of Minju Tyres Nairobi, Dorcas Thuku of New Jersey (USA), Pauline Njoki Thuku of California (USA) and George Thuku of Mitahato – Kwa Maiko.

Oluoch, Alice Olewe-Nyunya, Wilfridah Olaly, the late Monica Ariko, Jennifer
Nyamgero, Clarice Abol-Nyunya, the late Jane Awuor and Joan Kung’a. Niece to
Recce Kamidigo,the Late Alice Achieng’, Ruth Owuor, Margaret Othieno, the
