It is with great sorrow and sadness we announce the sudden passing away of Mr Francis Macharia Kariuki of Raini near Banana hill  (Kiambaa, Kiambu) former Trade Unionist (Building construction workers union) under Secretary COTU Nairobi branch. He is the husband to Grace Wanjiru Macharia. Father to the late Sarah Waringa Macharia, Peter Kariuki, John Waweru of S.E. London Noah Mugwe of London, Eddah Gitau of Barking London and Beatrice Kigera (U.S.A). He is the father-in-law to Viola Wambui Kariuki (U.S.A), Janet Warner Waweru S.E. London, Edward Kabetu Gitau Barking East London and John Muchene Kigera (U.S.A).

He is the grandfather to Bradon Macharia and Shirley Wanjiru Kariuki (U.S.A), Stephanie Wanjiru and Alfred Macharia Waweru S.E London, Napoleon Njuguna Kiniti, Alec Kigera and Stephan Kigera (U.S.A). And others.  His funeral will take place on Thursday 9th February 2006. The service will be held at C.P.K. King’othua at 12.00noon. Born: 1935 - Died: 25/01/2005

 

Mr. Duncan Kamanu Kagika, of Manor Park, East London, has lost his elder sister, the Late Hannah Njeri Kagika of Mairu Inya Nyahururu, in Nyandarua District, Kenya. Mr. Kamanu is an Elder and the Caretaker of Memorial Baptist Church, Plaistow, in London. The late Hannah Njeri Kagika passed away after a short illness at Nyahururu General Hospital on Wednesday 25, January 2006. She was the eldest daughter of the Late Solomon Kagika Kamanu and Mrs Miriam Wanjiku Kagika of Mairu Inya Nyahururu, Kenya. She was mother to Eunice Wanjiku Njuguna of Nairobi, John Kinyanyui of Njoro, Burton Kibui of Mairu Inya Nyahururu, Solomon Kagika Kigo of Naivasha, Duncan Kamanu of Nairobi and Sarah Muthoni of Naivasha. She was sister to the late John Kamanu Kagika, Shifira Nyambura Kangu of Machakos, Duncan Kamanu Kagika of East London, UK, Simon Lawrence Kimani Kagika of Retief Farm Nyandarua, the Late Milikah Njoki Ngugi, Isaac Gachoka Kagika of Firestone Nairobi, Kenya, Phyllis Muthoni of Mathare Hospital Nairobi, Newton Sammy Nguyo Kagika of Maryland USA and Josiah Muchangi Kagika of GPS Studios Nairobi. She was Step-sister to Hannah Njeri Gatimi of Kariobangi, Nairobi and Monicah Muthoni Kagika of Nairobi City Council. She was mother-in-law to the late Njuguna, Mrs Kinyanyui, Mrs Kibui, Mrs Kagika Kigo and Pastor Moses of Naivasha. Sister-in-Law to Isabella Karungari Kamanu of Ng'arua , Kenya, William Kangu of Machakos, Esther N. Kamanu of London, George Ngugi of Naivasha, Nyambura Kimani of Retief Farm Nyandarua, Mrs. Gachoka of Nyahururu, Margaret Nyambura Nguyo of USA and Margaret Muchangi of Nairobi.

It is sad to announce the sudden death of David Ndungu Njuguna, (23 years) that occurred on December 30, 2005.

David was enroute to the US but had to attend a race in Canada where he was discovered dead before the event. Circumstances leading to his death still remain a mystery under police investigation.

He hails from a very humble background and had not established himself in any way in Canada or the US.

His family kindly beseeches all Kenyans of good will and everybody at large to assist in any way possible to take his body home.

Death has occurred of the late Steve Njuguna Mungai in Basildon Hospital, Essex, UK. The Late Steve was the son of the Late Elijah Mungai Mbugua and Zipporah Njoki Mungai of Ngecha Location, Limuru Division of Kiambu District in Kenya.
 
He was brother to Mbugua Mungai of Tigoni, Kairu Mungai of Ngecha, Mrs Peninah Wambui Carnie of Streatham, London, Elizabeth Njeri Mungai of London, Alice Wanjiru Mungai of Streatham London, Grace Muthoni Mungai of Nairobi, and George Gichini Mungai of Nairobi. He was uncle to several others. He lived in Gloucester before moving to Grays, West Thurrock, London before he passed away. 
 
The funeral takes place on Saturday 3rd September 2005 at Beckenham Crematorium and Cemetery, Elmers End Road, Beckenham, Kent BR3 4TD. The cemetery is a short distance from Crystal Palace BR station. Nearest station is Birkbeck or Crystal Palace. We announce the death of Baranaba Nduati Macharia of Kiandutu, Thika, which occurred on Friday 8th July 2005 at Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi Kenya. He was a Water Distributor in Mathare Valley No. 4A before he moved to Kiandutu Thika.

 

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Macharia Wanjonjo. Husband to the late Beth Waithira Nduati, Hannah Njambi Nduati of Thika and Mama Wangari of Mlango Kubwa, Pangani Nairobi. He was father to Rev. Elijah Kimani Nduati of Huduma Ministries International UK, London, Mwangi Nduati, (well known in London as Money Money) and Ayub Kuria Nduati of Nairobi Kenya among the others. He was brother to Mr. Musa Mwangi Nduati of Wanjohi, Mr Benjamin Maina Nduati of Ol Kalou and Esther Gathoni Njuguna of Loitoktok, all of Kenya. Father-in-law to Rev. Death has occurred of the late Grace Wanjiru Mwangi, 61, a Kenyan lady who has been living at Welwyn Gardens City, Hertfordshire, UK. The late Grace Wanjiru Mwangi was shot dead by matatu hijackers along Jogoo Road, Nairobi on Tuesday 29th March 2005. She is the mother to Susan Wanjiku of Hertfordshire, UK among others. According to reliable sources, the late Grace took a matatu in Nairobi city on Tuesday evening towards Umoja Estate along Jogoo Road. When the matatu arrived Uchumi Supermarket along Jogoo Road, one of the five gangsters shouted: "Take the command" as the driver of the matatu was forced to enter Maringo Estate. Immediately the late Grace, who is a born again Christian and was sitting between the driver and one gangster realised what was happening and she shouted: "Everyone don't worry, we are covered by the blood of Jesus", as she started praying. The gangsters panicked and they shot her dead. One of the five gangsters was a woman. She comes from Gatumbi, Gachocho, Kigumo, Maragwa District, Kenya. The Namwamba Family of Wekhonye Farm Kitale, the Abamadeya International Community (Kenya, USA, South Africa), the Abamulembo Clan, and the Abanyala Association (Trans Nzoia) regret to announce the sad demise of Mwalimu Willy-John Obuyu Namwamba, who passed away on Saturday 5th of March 2005.

Mw. Namwamba was the husband to the late Mwalimu Sabina Njeri. He is the father of Eng. Bernard Namwamba, Eng. John Bosco Namwamba, Prof. Fulbert Namwamba, Geol. Sebastian Namwamba, Mwalimu Ms Susan Kinuthia, Mwalimu Ms Evelyn Nanyingi, Ms Caroline Namwamba-Ocharo, Eng. Benedict Namwamba, Ms Anne Ntombela, Mr. Robert Namwamba, and Arch. Gerald Namwamba.

Mw. Namwamba was born in Port Victoria, Busia in 1933. He studied at St. Mary's Yala, Holy Ghost College (Mang'u High School) and Makerere University where he obtained a Bsc in Science in 1955. He taught science at Mangu High School, Chewoyet Secondary, St. Patricks, Iten, Kapsabet Boys High, Nakuru Day and retired as Principal of Kabuyefwe Friends. In this long illustrious career he educated two Vice-Presidents, 4 cabinet Ministers, 7 Members of Parliament, 35 medical doctors and 30 engineers. Mw. Namwamba was the brother of Mrs Margaret Marusi, Mrs Felicita Okubo, Mrs Josephine Mutende, Hon. Prof. Christine Mango (MP, Butula), Mrs Barabara Opiyo, Ms Mary Obuyu, Mr. Peter Malomba, Martin Obuyu, Bonaventure Obuyu. He was the nephew of Matthias Osimbo.

Relatives and friends are requested to meet on Thursday March 10, and Friday March 11 at Garden Square, Nairobi at 6:30 pm to organize for a fund-raising to defray burial and funeral expenses. On Tuesday 15th of March a final Fundraising will be held at 6:00 pm at a venue yet to be announced. Mwalimu will be buried next to his late departed wife Sabina, at his Wekhonye Farm, Kiminini, Kitale, Trans Nzoia District on the 19th of March 2005.

A Kenyan has passed away in London. Esther Wanjiku Murigi, 34 passed away on Saturday 12th February, 2005 at Barnet Hospital, North London after a short illness. According to reliable sources, the late Wanjiku left behind her 12 year daughter in her house in Edgware informing her that she was going to the hospital. She drove herself to hospital on Friday 11th February, 2005. After some tests, the doctor discovered that she had a lump on her thigh. She was taken for surgery to remove the lump. She passed away the following day. Her family comes from Kihumbu-ini, Thika District and her she was living in Thika town before coming to the UK.
