JAMHURI 2004 IN UK

PART ONE

Kenya High Commissioner in the UK HE Joseph Muchemi and his wife Cecilia Muchemi hosted a Jamhuri reception for the diplomatic circles in London on Friday 10th December, 2004. The celebrations took place at Inter Continental Hotel, Park Lane, in Central London. The function, which had a record attendance by both diplomats and Kenyans made a difference with the traditional reception which nothing much happens. This time, Kenya embassy staff did their homework and it was an eye catching event as there was plenty of foods for the guests and several screens showing Kenya tourism as the guests enjoyed their meal. In attendance were Miss Kenya UK 2004 and Miss Commonwealth 2004. Vitimbi TV comedians from Kenya stole show as everyone around was excited to see them around especially Mzee Ojwang of whom the age has now caught up with him. Mama Kayayi, Ondieki Nyoka Quarter and Mizee who always act as a judge were in attendance. Notably at the function were the Kenya young musicians already in London for Jamhuri which include Prezo, DJ Pinye, Wahu and Redsan.
