One of the few remaining
Mr. Peter Mbogo Kamau, a man with a difference in the modern world where everything has fallen apart. Mr. Kamau has been on the headlines in Kenya and foreign newspapers for this outstanding work in his NGO. Mr. Kamau formed an NGO "Take Heart Association Project" (THAP) in 1996. This was done by going through a lot of hassle after taking his daughter who had a heart problem to India for treatment. His daughter passed away while undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in India but he later discovered that his daughter would have been saved had he known about the problem before. With the high cost of living in Kenya and the poor heart treatment facilities, Mr. Kamau found out that Kenyan poor families could get a cheaper and effective ways of heart treatment in India. Since 1992, THAP has assisted 30 patients in undergoing successful heart surgery in Kenya, India, and the United States. These interventions would have been impossible without THAP's Heart for Kids Program because these children come from some of the poorest areas of East Africa. The medical care that Hearts for Kids assists in providing includes pre-op diagnosis, coordinating facilities/physicians, arranging overnight accommodations, transportation to/from hospital facilities, and post-op care. He operates in a very transparent manor. Mzee Kamau has been in the USA here he has launched an THAP office. He is looking financial assistant in cash or in kind and will be highly appreciated and will go along way in assisting needy children. His contact is thapkenya@yahoo.com, Telephone in the UK is 07961983260 in Kenya 0733475101. Postal address is P.O. Box 14130, Nairobi, Kenya. You can visit his website at www.thapk.org

Is this ghost of Henry VIII?

Notorious ... Henry VIII lived at |
![]() Reputation ... Palace has long history of reported sightings |
A spooky apparition caught on security cameras at Hampton Court Palace could be the ghost of notorious King Henry VIII, experts said on Sunday night. The phantom figure, sporting 16th-century garb, was spotted as guards scanned CCTV footage at the ancient palace, once home to Henry — and famed for reports of supernatural activity. Leading authority Terry O’Sullivan said he was convinced the picture showed the ghost of the king, who wed six wives before dying in 1547. Mr O’Sullivan, the College of Psychic Studies’ top expert on ghosts, also claimed it was highly significant that the CCTV footage — released yesterday — had been filmed during October. He said: “The period around Hallowe’en is the most active for apparitions of this kind. “It is the time of the year when the veil between this world and the other world is at its thinnest. “I find it entirely believable that this was the ghost of Henry VIII. “He was a very vain man who thought nothing of changing religions to suit his own purposes and killing people who got in his way.
“I think this was a case of him dropping in from the other world to have a look around — and that he wanted to be seen. He’ll be revelling in all the publicity.” Paranormal investigator David Taylor agreed it could be Henry. He said: “Hampton Court is the scene of numerous ghost sightings over the years and is linked to some of Henry’s more hideous crimes like the murder of his wives. “Clearly he was a tormented soul and for that reason his spirit may live on in the palace walls. “Many believe that when somebody has led a tortured life, full of anger and hurt, the soul of that person will haunt a place where he spent most of his time. “And in this case it may be that Henry is trapped forever where he carried out so many evils.” Mr Taylor added: “This could well be one of the most significant paranormal sightings in years.” Hampton Court, built in 1514 beside the Thames in South West London, was recently placed fourth in a list of the capital’s most supernatural locations. Yet despite frequent reported sightings, no ghost has ever been caught on film. The amazing new figure was seen as guards examined CCTV footage to probe repeated reports of an open fire exit in an exhibition area of the palace. The men secured the doors on each occasion, then returned to their office to view video footage to discover who had opened them.
On the first occasion the film showed the doors flying wide open, but with no evidence why. But on the second, the guards were stunned when the ghostly figure in period dress appeared on the screen and CLOSED the doors. The same thing happened on a third day, but no figure was seen. However on the same day, a tourist noted in the visitor book that she had seen a ghost in that area. One guard said: “I was shocked to see this eerie figure in the doorway. It was incredibly spooky as the face just didn’t look human. “My first reaction was that someone was having a laugh, so I got my colleagues to take a look. “We spoke to our costumed guides but they have no costumes like that. It’s all quite unnerving.” Three of Henry VIII’s wives — Anne Boleyn, Catherine Howard and Jane Seymour — are said to have haunted parts of the palace. On Sunday 21st December 2003 evening psychologist Prof Richard Wiseman, who studied the Haunted Gallery at Hampton Court Palace for ten days in 2000, called the photo “fascinating”. - The Sun, London.

George Kamau, 19, jailed for life

A Kenyan has jailed for life in Nottingham for raping two prostitutes. The man who is an asylum seeker raped two hookers and almost throttled a third in a four-week reign of terror was on Tuesday 16th December, 2003 jailed for life. Kerb crawler George Kamau,19, who worked for a high-tech computer company, had sex with two of the women aged 20 and 16 without using a condom. Nottingham Crown Court heard that Kamau grabbed the throat of the last victim, aged 21, and groped her between her legs. But she escaped by lashing out at him with a pair of scissors. Kamau, from Kenya, who had been in England for less than two years , was convicted at an earlier hearing of two charges of rape, one of indecent assault and two of stealing money from two of the women. Recorder Peter Joyce QC told him "it is quite plain from the evidence that you terrified all three of these women. You made it plain that you were going to have sex with them, come what may. You have absolutely no recognition of the harm that you were doing. You have shown absolutely no remorse". The recorder said reports revolved that Kamau was in the high risk category for re-offending, particularly against strangers who were female. The recorder ordered that that he should serve at least five-and-a half years before he could be considered for parole, and after his release hew will be deported back to Kenya,. Kamau, of Lings, Northampton, was also given a 12- month custody sentence for the thefts to run consecutively with the life sentence, and six years for the indecent assault to run concurrently with the life term.
