Arch Bishop Deya and Bishop Kitonga at the consecration

Arch Bishop Deya and Bishop Arthur Kitonga of Redeemed Church in Kenya were among the bishops and guests from UK and outside UK who came to witness the consecration of the youngest Kenyan bishop ever to be consecrated. Bishop Joseph Njuguna Warui, 31, was consecrated as a Bishop of TAPAC and Camberwell Christian Centre, London. The colourful ceremony took place at the United Reformed Methodist Church in East Dulwich, South London on Saturday 4th March 2006. Before Bishop Warui's consecration, Arch Bishop Deya was honoured with an arch bishop cap by TAPAC. Bishop Kitonga was also consecrated as an arch bishop at the ceremony. Arch Bishop Kitonga  who was the preacher of the day made a joke when preaching by switching from English to Swahili, saying: "Mimi ni Pastor, Rev., Apostle, Bishop, President of Association of Evangelicals in Africa na leo nimepatiwa jina lingine....mmesema jina gani hiyo? Arch-Bishop?...Asanti" Arch Bishop Kitonga commented jokingly.

Arch Bishop Kitonga preached from  John 15:13-17. Where he explained that God never call us to do nothing. Each person is a minister in the ministry. He advised Bishop Warui that when he made money he should divert some into the ministry and should not pocket everything for himself. He advised Bishop Warui not to depend on titles but the work of God he is doing. He said that the character of someone speaks more than words. He asked not to listen to people as people will talk of him but he should concentrate with the work of God. "I don't listen to what people talk, I don't talk of failure, I talk big, I live big and I walk big." Arch Bishop Kitonga commented. He advised Kenyans in the UK not to forget home as East or West home is best. "Shame on those Africans who call themselves British, trying to forget their culture and language. Have you ever seen British trying to forget their cultures and languages?" Arch Bishop Kitonga concluded.
